ENGINE-READY
✓ THE STANDARDEvery capable AI agent already reads a context file — Claude Code reads CLAUDE.md, others read AGENTS.md. Engine-Ready is the simple, open convention that makes any project legible to any agent: one file at the root that points to the Context Files an agent should load first.
The convention
- Put an
AGENTS.md(orCLAUDE.md) at your project root. - List your Context Files under a ## Context Files heading, each with a one-line purpose.
- Tell the agent to load them before doing work.
📄 AGENTS.md
# AGENTS.md > This project is Engine-Ready. An AI agent should read the Context Files > below before doing any work. ## Context Files - offer/offer-spec.md — what we sell and to whom - offer/avatar.md — the buyer, their pains, their language - brand/voice.md — how we write - rules.md — what to build, and what never to touch ## How to use Load every file above into context first, then follow the request.
The badge
Tools in our directory that ship (or read) this convention earn the honest ✓ ENGINE-CHECKED badge — we verify the install steps and where the Context Files go. It's a mark of "this actually works with your files," not a paid placement.
